Every page is drawn fresh by AI. Your photo keeps each hero recognizable from page to page, but small details — clothing, backgrounds, side characters — can vary between panels. Think art commission, not photo print.

Generation runs on our servers, so once it starts you can lock your phone or close the app — your book will be waiting in your Library. Because AI costs start the moment we begin drawing, cash refunds aren't available after generation starts — instead, your purchase includes one free retry, so if you don't love how it turned out you can start over once at no extra charge. Cancelling a generation part-way uses that retry, because the pages drawn so far have already cost us.

Uploaded photos are used solely to illustrate your characters. We don't keep a stored copy of your original photo once your book is generated, and we never sell your personal information. Drawing the book does mean sending the photo to our AI partners, Anthropic and Google, who may retain and review image data under their own policies. The illustrated pages we create are stored so your library syncs across devices — delete a book or your account and they go too. You must be 13 or older to use Storybook Sanctum.
